Develop Your Garden with Very cheap Garden Sheds The best Wood Working Plans
Using Cheap Sheds for your Garden
A shed is generally categorized as a stand alone structure, with a resemblance of a closed room. It is usually situated outdoors - in the backyard, garage, or garden for this structure will contain items for storage or repairs. Most of the time, sheds are made up of metal, plastic, vinyl, asbestos, and other construction materials that can stand external conditions.
Bulk of sheds found in homes today are garden sheds. Garden sheds are constructed for various purposes such as storage and additional décor. As for the storage purpose, it functions as an effective housing for gardening tools such as the ones you use for potting, weeding, fertilizing, or planting. Some even create two sheds exclusively for pots and tools just to keep them organized.
Since garden sheds are placed outside, it should match the beauty of the earlier set garden design. By such, a garden shed must be presentable in form and thematic in nature. This can be done by extending extra effort in the finishing of your garden shed and creating coherence with the natural elements surrounding it.
Where to Find Cheap Garden Sheds
Garden sheds need not to be expensive. In building your garden sheds, you can either go with the do-it-yourself plans or simply buy a shed construction kit complete with installing instructions. Building materials for this structure is not that hard to find since its readily available in any hardware store, not to mention its cost-saving potential for you can compare rates prior to purchase.Shed construction kits , on the other hand, normally contain semi-built sheds ready for installation. For good deals, you can check online selling sites for sheds (ex. Buyashed.com.au) or garden paraphernalias.

The Winter Shop
This winter I decided to take a similar philosophical approach to my shop.
Last winter was my first in the shop one my parents land, Its in a steel shed on the back corner of their property. Steel sheds arent really know for their insulative properties, and I picked up a kerosene heater to help make it through but there were some good treks through knee deep snow until I had a path tromped down.
Not that I minded much, it did slow down my progress, glues and finishes dont work in the cold, supplies are difficult to bring to the shop, and when the temperature drops below 0 degrees, even the kerosene heater doesnt help.
We live on the fifth floor of a big apartment building. Our place has a separate dining room in addition to the standard bedrooms, kitchen, living room set up. The dining room is more often referred to as my study because weve put a couple cheep bookshelves along the wall to hold my some of our books. We are not a sit around the table for supper family, the dining room gets used as a catch all place for a lot of other things.
I decided to co-opt the dining room, or rather half of it, to serve as a winter shop. I had built my Joinery Bench to be portable. I just needed a way to transport and store the tools I would need to continue to work. So I started work building a traditional tool chest and managed to get it finished and the shop moved just in time to beat the first snow. (which has since disappeared in the recent rains, but weather in Wisconsin is interesting, If you dont like what it is right now, hold on an hour because itll be different)
I managed to get everything into one minivan load. Well almost everything, I made a return trip to pick up some cherry stock.
It was an interesting catharsis to see the shop cleaned out. If I continue to work out of the tool chest when I move back to the "Summer Shop" and I suspect I will. Im going to have to figure out something different to with the peg board.
The saw till and plane storage shelf look lonely too.
The blue plastic tool box has a small assortment of clamps and the wooden tool box on top of it has nails, screws and some hardware inside. The anarchistic tool chest is still unfinished, I ran out of stock for the skirting. Im think Im gonna pick up some pine to finish it up soon.
Of course every shop has its challenges and breaking down longer stock is always a challenge. The problem solving needed to overcome these kind of challenges is keeps me on my toes and continually searching for a better way.
Even though the chest isnt finished I am currently working out of it, and enjoying the experience. I thought I would give a quick little video tour of the chest and the tools Ive decided to fill it with.

P.S. I just wanted to drop one more quick note of thanks. I try not to concern myself too much with numbers when it comes to this blog, I try to write what makes me happy and things I think I would like to read and let anyone who chooses to come along for the ride. I do keep an eye on the numbers though and I am always curious about how people find me and whether they are interested enough to come back and read some more.
To that end I am tickled to say that the month of November was record breaking for hits and readership and on December 7th we set a new one day record.
This is super humbling to me and I wanted to take a minute to offer a big thank you to everyone who takes a minute out of your day to read about my adventures in sawdust. Im having a blast continuing to work here and Im glad youre along for the ride.
Thank You
Derek

The Universe Will Provide Interuption After Interuption After
Very Big Lebowski-ish, I should have asked the lady if she wanted to be called "The Dude-ette" or "Dude-erella" or "Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Dude" if I wasnt feeling the whole brevity thing.
My buisness partner and I walked out of that meeting shaking our heads and laughing, to this day "The Universe Will Provide" is a phrase one of us will bust out to add some levity when there seems to be a huge pile of work before us.
Maybe Im just more sensitive than usual because Im feeling under a bit of a time crunch, but I have made a commitment to do a weekend of hand tool woodworking in front of the public the weekend of June 19th & 20th at the Olde English Faire near Peoria Illinois. and I have just started the Joinery Bench that I want to use to work from. but this last week and a half I have been able to get no where, My shop is too small to do glue ups in, necessary to pull off the laminated 2x constructed top, and we just finished up a week of nothing but rain and super cold weather, The weather improved this weekend, but I was schedueled to spend the whole weekend ata a nearby communities Syttende Mai (Norwegian Independence Day) Festival promoting Tribe Woden Thor, the Medieval Reenactment group I am a member of. A lot of fun, but still no work was accomplished.

I can almost hear the clock ticking in my ear.
So if your are not the kind of person who will sit and wait for the universe to provide for you, what do you do when you feel like the universe is working against you? (pic from the Hubble Telescope found on Wikipedia)
My answer is you knuckle down and work harder. I vow to continue to rail against the falling sands of time and accomplish everything I can. (I know, I know, a bit over the top) Well see if I can do it.A real challenge. . . I accept.
Cheers!

Choosing the Right Platform Bed Plans Build a Platform Bed Yourself With Great Platform Bed Plans!

In short, yes! Making this type of bed is a very simple project for someone who has some basic carpentry skills and enjoys wood working. If you are looking to build something more difficult than a basic box platform, the project will increase in difficulty. If this is something you are looking to do in order to add your own style, it is the time to depend on a set high-quality bed plans.
A list of the tools needed for the project. If you have some standard tools for working with wood, you will probably have all the tools necessary to build this type of bed.
A list of hardware and wood needed. Once you have selected which design you will be going with, make sure to check them very closely for all of the materials needed. You will need to know which type of wood, screws, fasteners, and other hardware for your project.
A good set of bed plans will provide you with a list of all the tools and hardware needed in order to complete your project. This will result in fewer trips to the hardware store and will keep you more organized as you move through this project.
Whatever type and style of bed youre planning to tackle, you need to invest in a set of high quality platform bed plans. The more difficult the tasks associated with this project, the greater the need for detailed instructions.
I am sure you will be able to find a free set of plans online, but these plans are not reliable as they can contain omitted and simple mistakes. These types of lower quality plans can create frustration, more work and end up costing you more money. With high quality detailed plans, you will be able to complete your project quickly and easily with minimum problems.
A beautifully built platform bed will transform your bedroom. Once you have finished your first bed, you will have more confidence and will maybe want to try something more difficult. You now have the knowledge and more experience to take on the more difficult projects.

Ombre Mirror for the Landing

The ombre landing theme continues!
Yesterday I finished painting the mirror and it really has come a long way!
I also refinished the shoe cabinet recently, click here to read more.

I started with this maroon technicolor mirror purchased on clearance at TJ Maxx for $20 - I originally painted it white, but decided that our bland rental wall needed some color!
I got a color sample from Benjamin Moore - mixed some white to make two samples lighter and airbrushed a subtle ombre with the bottom darker and top lighter
Airbrushing is very similar to spray painting, but less paint comes out so you have more control over where the paint goes. However, the paint must be the correct thickness to go through correctly - too thin and it will come out watery and too thick - it wont spray or spray very slow.
This mirror has three shades - the original color and two lighter shades - I overlap the colors and blend the transition by spraying less paint
Im loving the ombre theme on the landings! (click here and here to read more about the other ombre landings)
I also love the cheeriness that it adds to a dark corner!

Can you spot Annabelle? She says hi!

Peonies are my favorite flower and are in season now - so I had to pick up a bunch!
Ive got big plans for the rest of the landings too ... but first I need to work on the guest bedroom!
Have you added any colorful spots to your home recently?
Inside the credenza

I have a basket from World Market on the left for ink cartridges and other office supplies. The small laser printer sits below with the power strip behind it. A USB hub will also go there, so I only have to run one wire to the computer.

In the middle, the large printer sits on the bottom and the Silhouette Cameo (I got mine from Amazon here) sits above on a sliding shelf so that it has plenty of room (when in use the cutting mat slides back so it needs extra room)

The scanner is also on a sliding shelf so it can open easily.

On the right, we have 7 narrow shelves for flat storage. I love that everything has its own place!
And best of all, we can tuck it all away!

Racking The Quilts Part IV
With all the shaping finally done for the Quilt Rack, it was time to sand. I used a combination of random orbit sanders and 3M Sandblaster sanding pads. I like the sanding pads because the foam backing keeps the pad rounded and prevents gouging or flattening the curves of the work piece. The sanding began with 80 grit and progressed to 180.

It was somewhere around this point that I was corrected regarding the due date. It turned out I only had one week until my mother-in-law’s birthday party, not two. I immediately abandoned my finish samples and got back to the business of assembling the quilt rack.

With the assembly done, I next moved on to finishing the quilt rack.
